Lighting

1. Dusk Sconce
2020

The Dusk Sconce has a diffused, warm glow creating an atmosphere of comfort and calm with its large presence in a space. The pantyhose stretched over steel armature creates an emotive, fleshlike appearance. The use of natural light during the “magic hour” in the cinematography of Terrence Malick’s “Days of Heaven” created a soft and golden ambiance that was visually striking. The warm and soft colors of the lighting in the movie are reminiscent of the design aesthetics of that era.

Film and design showcase how visual aesthetics and themes can transcend mediums and time periods.
